Five standard tap bodies and thirty-three standard tap
heads allow ALT Taps to produce 1-1/4" to 13-1/4" I.D. and 1-1/4" to 12" nominal NPT and BSTP pipethreads.
Recommended where wide range of work requires the versatility and wide range coverage offered by detachable tap heads.
Can be used, when supplied with suitable tooling, to produce right or left-hand threads.
Can be supplied for revolving or stationary applications.
Extension links, extension adapters, and special long tap heads allow deep hole tapping.
A receding chaser type tap primarily intended to produce longer length American Petroleum Institute (API) threads. Can also be used to cut NPT and BSTP taper pipe as well as straight threads.
Four bodies with twenty-six standard tap heads allow 1" to 12" nominal pipe sizes to be tapped.
Leadscrew or positive feed is required.
As the tap moves forward, the chasers recede into the tap head at the rate needed to produce the desired taper. The taper rate is controlled by a precise receding mechanism acting in consort with the leadscrew.
Usually supplied with a receding lever to produce 3/4" taper per foot. Other receding levers are available to cut 0 to 2" taper per foot or straight threads.
Normally supplied for right-hand tapping, the LL can also be supplied with tap heads and chasers for left-hand work.
The standard stationary tap can be converted to a revolving tap by removing the setup handle and setting up the tap with a yoke.
A receding chaser type tap supplied where overall length restriction prevents the use of the longer LL Tap. The LLSR's overall length is 10-1/16" regardless of the size tap head used.
The 2 LLSR tap body can be supplied with 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2" size heads to produce threads on 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2" NPT, BSTP, and API line pipe without chaser leave off marks.
Usually supplied to produce 3/4" taper per foot, it can be adapted with suitable receding levers to produce other taper rates. Installation of an anchor locks out the receding motion and allows straight threads to be tapped.
Banjo slots permit quick and easy interchange of tap heads.
Available for stationary or revolving applications.
Chasers are identical and interchange with those supplied for comparable size LL tap heads.
Must be used with leadscrew or positive feed to provide the proper feed rate to the receding mechanism.
